THE TURNING POINT

In early 1973, my life would intersect with a gentleman who changed the course of my career. The confluence of his talent and determination, along with my desire to learn, help me realize my lifelong dream. His name is Norman Kelton and my dream was to be a professional musician. This was the turning point of my life. I shall always remain thankful and in debt for the gift that he gave me.

Norman is an extremely gifted musician. To have him grace the stage and hear him play live is something that you will never forget. His touch and tone are incomparable. But, as good as he is as a musician; he excels even more as a teacher. A gift that is truly rare.

Those of us who have had the opportunity to study one on one with Norman are blessed individuals. If this opportunity ever presents itself to you, don’t pass it up. Studying with him is the ride of a lifetime. He is intense and driven underneath his calm exterior, but he will lift you to heights that you thought were not possible.

Now some 35 years later, Norman Kelton presents his lifetime of playing and teaching into a comprehensive system of learning. This is a chance to study with a master in the privacy of your own home. When I studied with Norman, the internet, midi, and personal computers did not exist. Now is the time for those of you who desire to play and develop a ’real’ system of learning and a lifetime of enjoyment of music.

I think I love just about everything about the guitar. But, I think the thing I love the most is that the guitar is an instrument with which it is easy to have an enormous amount of fun AND can be just as rewarding if you are a serious student.

I was fortunate to have been taught by Norman Kelton. My education under Mr. Kelton provided me with an entre into the world of music playing as a professional, both in the studio and on tour. Now I just play for fun. That's why I have always appreciated learning from Mr. Kelton. With his focus on sound principals, his methods always recognized, enhanced, and reflected my desire and ability to enjoy my guitar playing.

I have been exposed to a lot of students who've learned from other on-line methods which teach a string of notes which sound like a particular song. But, the "lesson" has no connection with anything beyond that one song and people who learn to play that way can be difficult people with whom to play. That's frustrating for me and I'm sure it's also frustrating for them. So, if you are considering a guitar method I really recommend Norman Kelton. You'll be guaranteed to learn something worthwhile and enjoy doing so.
